If you have been in education longer than 15 minutes, you know that there are times this career choice causes us to regret our decision (scrolling Linkedin) ....it’s that bad. There are also moments that cause us to pause in awe as we dumbfoundedly witness miracles unfold. It’s that good. How can we keep this up for 35-50 years? How can we train our minds and bodies to recommit every day to the profession that truly makes all other professions possible? Using the Chicago Marathon as a metaphoric backdrop---we invite you to come have recess with us. Reflect, rejuvenate, and rediscover your grit and your “why”. There are times when we feel very alone in the challenges of teaching---but, even now, we are in an historic sea of forward movement.
